The Regional Cultural Strategy
The West Midlands Regional Cultural Strategy (RCS) is an agreed set of priorities for cultural, sporting and creative development in the West Midlands region. Led by Culture West Midlands, the RCS is a clear framework encouraging collaboration between culture, leisure and regional partner organisations across the region - and ensuring that the sector is contributing fully to the economic, social and environmental development of the region.
This first regional cultural strategy was launched in 2001 and in 2006, CWM launched the follow up document, "Valuing People and Places".
"Valuing People and Places" sets out priorities for action for the West Midlands Cultural sector over the next two years, reflecting changes in regional policy and priorities since the original strategy was launched. It was developed by CWM and the Regional Cultural Forum, which brings together a wide range of regional agencies who share a commitment to developing the cultural life of the West Midlands.
